It is about that time of the year when we mark Easter, and I am more than excited to share it with my loved ones. This is the opportune time to prepare loads of Easter dishes to be shared by friends and family.

There are a lot of different dietary lifestyles out there these days, and it’s hard to know which one is best. Is going vegan the answer, or is paleo the way to go?
At the end of the day, there are good arguments for both options, even though vegan and paleo are incompatible with one another most of the time.
Then there’s the whole ‘wheat belly’ argument. Is gluten really as devastating as it’s been made out to be the last couple of years?

Recently, my husband and I had a rare chance to spend some time together away from the kids – we flew down to Cabo, San Lucas, for the weekend. The resort we stayed at was all inclusive, and there was a lot of alcohol available. A lot of it was Sangria – but I find the traditional Sangria drink is too tart for my taste.
When I was down there, I missed the richer, fruitier taste of my favorite Hawaiian-style drinks. So after I came home, I decided to give the basic Isla Sangria an upgrade. My version uses … Read More

It’s margarita time!
Well, it’s Cinco de Mayo time again in California. And that means time for ‘ritas.
Margaritas are great for parties, but they can get boring after a while. What we need is an infusion of fresh tropical fruit to get the party started again!
My sis and I went for Passion Fruit and Kiwi this year. Our Kiwi-ritas were the hit of the party, and the relatively low alcohol content means we didn’t have to suffer the next day (too much!).
Don’t you just love the movie, The Big Lebowski?
It’s one of my all-time favorites. If I’m having a down day, or if it’s raining outside, then I’ll close the garage door over our enclosed patio, turn on the television and spend the next 90 minutes with Lebowski. It’s a slam dunk that I will feel warm and content by the end, because let’s be honest: it’s impossible to feel cheated by the world when you see how happy The Dude is just being himself.
The Dude embodies the California lifestyle (well, one subculture) so well, it’s … Read More
Here’s a fruity frozen drink that’s elegant, fizzy and easy to make. To come up with this recipe, I used a frozen Raspberry Margarita margarita recipe I found online and substituted Champagne for tequila and added some pureed apples to boot. It’s really good!
